If one was to sum up Christ's story in our lives in a few verses, then John 3:16-18 does just that. If we were to sum up our story in the life of Christ, Acts 17:28 comes to mind.
"For in Him we live and move and have our being".
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:16-18.
Yet, there's so much more.
So much that...
"there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written".
John 21:25
Yet, everything that was written about Christ and all the signs that Jesus gave were for a purpose, as Thomas discovered.
John 20:24-31
But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples were saying to him, "We have seen the Lord!"
But he said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the imprint of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe."
After eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said, "Peace be with you." Then He said to Thomas, "Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing."
Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"
Jesus said to him, "Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed."
Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. NASU
Now when all the people were baptized (Immersed), Jesus was also baptized (immersed), and while He was praying, heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice (God the Father) came out of heaven, "You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased."
Luke 3:21-22
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing (immersing) them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Matthew 28:18-20
and yes, we who believe, are the one and only church/kingdom that Jesus built (Matthew 16:18-19).
As are each who have been added to the church by the Lord, just as those in the first century and anybody following obey in accordance with Acts 2:37, 38, 40, 41 and 47. As Jesus says, He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. You can know the Truth and the Truth will set you free.
Bottom line? You can know there is an absolute 'right', know what and where that 'right' is and act on it. Don't let anybody tell you different. Because, there is a difference! Or He wouldn't have died for us- right?
Acts 2:38-42
Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized (immersed) in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift (indwelling) of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself." And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation!" So then, those who had received his word were baptized (immersed); and that day there were added about three thousand souls.
Acts 2:47
And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
But an hour is coming, and now is when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth.
For such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.
God is spirit
And those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
Matthew 11:28-30, NKJV
We've seen the renewal begin many times - people who come to us with doubt and uncertainty in their lives, then becoming secure in the peace that assures their place in God's great kingdom. Peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-9).
The change may start slowly . Perhaps through a moment or time of need. Maybe within a small prayer to God simply asking for a little guidance. Every journey begins with a first step, big or small. Even reading this, may be yours. I remember so vividly reading bible (Matthew 6:25-34) about a God and Jesus I didn't know. In hindsight verse 34 dawned on me years later, though all the previous verses made an immediate impact. Those previous verses gave me both direction and priority right away. Verse 34 however was a game changer the kind of which, while I acted on what He was saying, I did not consciously realize the significance at the time. In a nutshell Jesus was saying, don't procrastinate, the day is 'today' more specifically 'the time is now'. I took it personally. It wasn't, I mean, I took ownership to the nth degree. I had been reading 'bible' for about a week or more, starting with Matthew. to coin a modern day common 'put off', "Well, you've certainly given me something to think about'. I had been thinking and looking for answers all my life, but all of a sudden realized I wasn't asking the right questions. In one fell swoop Jesus gave me direction and priority, an action plan and an understanding of importance and urgency. While the latter are inseparable, that said, there is a world of difference between them. Properly discerned they are 'mutually symbiotic'. The more I understood, the more I realized that through the peace of God, the gospel and I were also 'commensally symbiotic' with me being the beneficiary. just as eternity and the difference between them. All the same, there is a world of difference between ' what's important and what is urgent'. What God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit were showing me was, an alternate universe more real and lasting than the one we experience here and that we ought to live in this one- for the next. Instead of line of sight the true reality long-term is depth of vision. It is not in the seeing. It is in the heart. eyes of the heart- walking by faith not sight- eyes may need glasses- eyes of the heart may need salve- Rev time.study class - through prayer - singing - maybe by just hearing a sermon or perhaps simply by having a Christian friend– but once it begins, it gathers momentum. The good works, shared experiences, time spent worshiping God in Spirit and Truth– all bringing us closer to our highest calling for as
James wrote, ' Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first-fruits of His creatures.' James 1:18
Jesus said, "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free". John 8:32
'And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God'. Romans 12:2
And just so you know. Jesus made you a promise that as much as anything, will search your motives and test your honesty, integrity and will, in your search for answers.
As Jesus said, 'If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority' (as a man).
John 7:17
Bottom line. If you really want to know the truth, you truly will know, based on whether you honestly want to do what God wants you to do. Until then, you never will, be free. One last thing- if you want the truth, don't be surprised that you must want it more than anything else. As somebody once said, it may be an 'inconvenient truth'. It may at times put you in an 'uncomfortable pew'. Jesus neither promised convenience nor to keep us comfortable. Nor did he 'live' as such. Yet, He did die for the truth and us- thus speaking as the oracles of God truth is scripturally presented, scripturally backed letting scripture interpret scripture just as God intended.

I remember so vividly reading bible (Matthew 6:25-34) about a God and Jesus I didn't know. In hindsight verse 34 dawned on me years later. Always thought it a bit of a negative 'dig' until I actually realized what Jesus was saying and just how important it was for Him to not only say it, but leave it to the end to say. Though all the previous verses made an immediate impact. Those previous verses gave me both direction and priority right away. Christ praying in Garden - This is Him, God the Father and the Holy Spirit taking 'it' personally. "Nevertheless, not my will but Yours be done". Doesn't get any more personal than that.
If Christ being the Way, the Truth and the Life, took taking it personally right to the cross- following a doctrine He says wasn't His, but the Father's in heaven, a doctrine completed for us by the Holy Spirit- do you really believe you are allowed to make up or change the plan 'as you go'? Try Galatians 1:6-9 on for size and see if it fits your wardrobe and lifestyle. Better to clothe yourself with Christ, "For all of you who were baptized (immersed) into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ (Galatians 3:27 NASU) and dress properly for the occasion (Matthew 22:11-14).

Interesting that Proverbs advises to "but the truth and sell it not" (Proverbs 23:23). The fact is, 'truth' is priceless, just as Jesus is priceless. Hardly surprising as Jesus is the 'Truth, the Way and the Life'. So, why does Proverbs seem to put a price on it? Only because God knowing mankind, knows that mankind evaluates and appraises anything and everything by putting a price on anything and everything. Oh, man says some things are priceless. But man also says 'every man and everything has its price. Try as he or she might, mankind can't have it both ways. That's a lesson he's yet to grasp. So, Proverbs puts it in such a way that's easy to understand and relate to. Everyone and anyone can understand, relate to and 'grasp' the concept of money. Just look at the track record. Matthew 16:26 sets the record straight with a question that puts 'mammon' into perspective. It's the reason the wealth of all individual countries is measured in gold bullion and Fort Knox houses gold bars, not knowledge, wisdom or fear of the Lord.
