The church of Christ belongs to Jesus Christ.
He created His church and only His church. He recognizes no other and says any other will be uprooted by the Father. Ephesians 4:4-6 clearly says:
"There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. " Now read Colossians 1:18,

Christ is only coming back for His church
1 Corinthians 15:20-24
20 But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. 21 For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ
all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits,
after that those who are Christ's at His coming, 24 then comes the end,
when He hands over the kingdom (church/body) to the God and Father,
when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power.

The Power Is In The Gospel
Romans 1:16-17
I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith.
Galatians 1:6-10
I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; 7 which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.
8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!
9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!
10 For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God?
Or am I striving to please men?
If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.
Beware! Being that the gospel is the power of God unto your salvation, and anybody, whether man or angel changes that gospel, what then becomes of the 'power of God unto your salvation? Those who do so are accursed and your power of God unto salvation is 'gone'. Is that where you want to be?
